Selby Makes Marvellous Maximum

Mark Selby made his fourth 147 in the opening frame of his Cazoo British Open last 16 clash with Jack Lisowski in Milton Keynes.

Selby becomes the 12th player in snooker history to make four or more official maximums. The key moment of his break came when he ran out of position with four reds left, but played a brilliant ‘treble’ on one of the reds to a centre pocket.

The 147 will earn him the tournament’s £5,000 high break prize as long as it is not equalled this week.

It’s the third maximum of the season and 179th in all. Selby’s last perfect break came in 2018.
