Nigel Bond joined the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) board as a non-executive Players Director in February 2024.
A former British Open champion and the 1995 World Championship runner-up, Bond boasted a professional career spanning over 30 years and continues to perform at an amateur level – lifting the English Seniors Championship title and reaching the semi-finals of the prestigious English Amateur Championship in 2024.
In recent years Bond has become an accomplished coach based at the Star Snooker Academy in Sheffield. He also coaches extensively around the world including recently Germany, Qatar, Russia, Macedonia and Thailand.
Upon joining the board, Bond said “I am pleased to be able to join the Board of WPBSA Players and to be able to further contribute to the development of snooker. Having played at the highest level of our sport for over 30 years, I know what it takes to succeed and of the key issues facing our players.”
