Vilius Schulte-Ebbert defeated Tadas Andrejevas in the final to win a record-extending fifth Lithuanian Snooker Championship title.

A total of 39 players took part in this year’s event with contestants as young as 12 and 13-years-old.

Schulte-Ebbert eliminated Audrius Bubnys 3-0 in the last 32 before a break of 64 helped him see off Aris Lencevicius 4-0 in the last 16. He then defeated Saulius Zabulenas 4-0 in the quarter-finals, registering a 55 along the way.

The 27-year-old dropped his first frames of the tournament in the last four, but managed to break away from opponent Mindaugas Eimutis with the final two frames for a 4-2 victory.

On the other side of the draw, Andrejevas reached the final for the third time in four years after he ended the hopes of 2008 winner Mindaugas Skurvydas 4-2 in the other last four tie. However, Schulte-Ebbert commanded the final at the KN and Cue Club in capital city Vilnius – his home city – constructing a break of 56 in the final frame to help wrap up a 4-0 success and defend the championship.

Schulte-Ebbert – who earlier this year played in the World Snooker Federation Championship in Sheffield – is set to travel to Albania next month for the EBSA European Amateur Snooker Championship.
