Bio

Thor Chuan Leong, known as Rory Thor  in the west, has reached the last 16 of a ranking event and first joined the World Snooker Tour in 2014.

His best run in a ranking event to date came at the 2023 Scottish Open, where victories over former world champion Graeme Dott, Daniel Wells and Ashley Carty saw him reach the last 16 for the first time in his career.

In 2014 he won the Asian Snooker Championship to turn professional for the first time. During the 2015/16 season he reached the last 16 stage of European Tour events in Germany and Poland, helping him to earn a fresh two-year tour card from the start of the following season.

He again extended his current stint on the professional circuit by coming through Q School Event 3 in 2018, but was relegated at the end of his two-year period on tour.

In June 2023, Thor secured his return to the World Snooker Tour by securing qualification through the first event at the Asia-Oceania Q School in Bangkok, Thailand. He defeated five players, including former professional Lei Peifan 4-3 in the final round to secure victory.
